Korora 25: install on MacBookPro

Korora 25 installed on a 2015 MacBookPro w Retina display. Install was smooth with no problems.

The major problem I have is with power management when I close the lid. Neither, Suspend or Hibernate work. When I close the lid, the screen goes black (but not off) and the only way to wake the laptop up is by holding down the power button (aka reboot)

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you taken a look into the Log File? Try journalctl -b after closing the lid and a cold restart. Try to Post it here.

Good idea but don't post the logfile here, post to a paste site or use fpaste.

Will do. I am re-installing Korora 25 as we speak, once I do all the updates, I'll update the logs. Thanks

The best time to look at the logs is straight after a resume has failed and you have rebooted.

Ok @ozjd Thx for the info. Should have it in the next 20 mins.

There is a problem with that link as it gives a message about deactivating. Not sure what causes that but it is unusual. BTW I edited the link so that it works, click on the question mark above the reply box to see the options or see https://kororaproject.org/support/documentation/using-engage

I should have mentioned that I asked on irc about your problem

Sorry, I just noticed I had copied the wrong link. Thx for fixing.

I didn't fix the link I just made it clickable. You can edit the post and replace the link.

I edited my post with the correct link. You can edit your reply.

No replies yet. I'll post here if they don't.

Just checking in to see if anyone has any good news!

Sorry but there were no responses. I just posted it again, hopefully someone who missed it before will be able to help.

If i remember correct you were on IRC as guest|30972 with this issue. Did you have a look on bugzilla if other user posted about a similar issue and did you file a bug report against Fedora as we suggested?

Yes I did file a bug report. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1454888

I also messaged (via Twitter) Christian Schaller @Uraeus2, he works on Desktops for Red Hat. You can see his blog at https://blogs.gnome.org/uraeus/
